We have various events taking place in the castle and park during our opening season, such as the Steam Festival, Napoleonic Wars, Teddy Bears Picnic, family fun days and the annual Fireworks Competition. The events start on Mothering Sunday when you can enjoy a tour of the magnificent Castle and the beautiful daffodils in the gardens, perhaps followed by Sunday lunch in the Stewards Restaurant or afternoon tea in the Old Servants' Hall.
Whether you visit Belvoir for a family day out, a wedding or conference, I hope it will give you as much pleasure as it gives us.

Grimsthorpe is a historic house, park and garden open in the summer for adults and children to enjoy the countryside, nature and history.

Toll Rides (Off-Road) Trust – formerly South Eastern Toll Rides was established in 1990 by Dora Pilkington and some other like-minded riders, who were concerned at the growing amount of traffic on their local roads. Their approach to local farmers, with the help and encouragement of the NFU, the Country Landowners Association and East Anglian Farm Rides, led to the first toll ride being opened on agreed tracks and headlands. - James Lamb Antiques Restoration

Paths for Communities is a funding scheme set up to develop and enhance the network of Public Rights of Way (PROW) in England in order to deliver benefits to rural areas. Local community partnerships are eligible to bid to Natural England for funds.
The aim of P4C is to encourage and support local communities to work with land owners to make improvements to the network of Public Rights of Way. In all cases P4C projects must include some element of new Public Right of Way creation. The Old Rectory is a family house, bought in 1973, and improved and modernised over the years. It is in a hamlet, with only a church, but there are 2 good pubs within 3 miles. It is quiet and peaceful but easily accessible from the A1 (10 minutes) or from Oakham or Melton Mowbray. Rutland Water is 4 miles away, for cycling and walking, and Stamford with Burghley House are handy for a visit, plus Belton House, Belvoir Castle, Rockingham Castle & Kirby Hall, which are all well worth exploring.
The other attraction to the Old Rectory, is that the BBC used it as a location in their 1995 adaption of Pride and Prejudice. It was Mr. Collins' rectory, with Belton House as Lady Catherine de Bourgh's home. - Weather - videos

The Willoughby Memorial trust was founded in 1965 by the last Lord Ancaster in memory of his son Timothy, Lord Willoughby de Eresby, who died in 1963.
The Trustees have converted the late 17th Century Read’s Grammar School in Corby Glen into a library and small art gallery. The gallery holds a series of exhibitions from Easter to November and an annual Open Art Competition.
The gallery occupies an elevated site in Corby Glen beside the A151 between Colsterworth and Bourne. The gallery is open between 12noon and 5.00pm, closed on Mondays except Bank Holidays. Admission is free. |
